Painterly Portrait Drawing

Drawing for those that love to paint 

We all know that drawing is highly recommended for improving at painting realistically, but for natural oil painters like myself, drawing with dry media was often a little unsatisfying. Many approaches to are either too fast with little time to pay attention to the subject, or too slow spending 70+ hours rendering a millimeter at a time. 

There is a better way! Come draw along and learn the fundamentals of classical portrait drawing in the way I've found to maximize learning in the shortest time possible. 

We'll make 2 careful, but lively portrait drawings over 6 weeks.

Format

Live zoom class meeting Sundays at 10am PST for 6 weeks - I'll be drawing a demo each class and you'll draw along using the same reference. Individual feedback will be given at the beginning of each class (Feedback Tier).  

All class sessions will be recorded so you can watch or re-watch on your own time.

Students in the Feedback tier will receive paint-over feedback at the beginning of each class (after the very last class you'll get a recording of the feedback) All class meetings will be recorded so you can rewatch at any time. Class recordings will be available for 30 days after the class.  

Students in the Audit tier can participate in the weekly Zoom session to observe a live demo and paint along. They will receive reference photos and a recording of the class but won't have the opportunity to actively engage in the session or receive feedback on their own work.
